Dash Waterbury is a performer and stage director with over a decade of professional experience in opera and musical theater. He has worked throughout the United States and internationally, and has adapted several works for the stage.

Lauded for his ability to elicit exciting and moving performances from performers, Dash has directed shows in virtually every genre of theatre. Recent directing credits include The Two Noble Kinsmen for Santa Cruz Shakespeare and Shrek the Musical for the Cascade Theater. Other favorite credits include Sondheim's A Little Night Music and Argento’s Postcard from Morocco for Florida State University, site-specific productions of Shakespeare's Hamlet (co-directed) and Handel’s Apollo e Dafne, Dido and Aeneas for Chicago Summer Opera, Handel’s Oreste in its southwest premiere for Baylor University, and Mark Adamo's Little Women and Mozart's Die Zauberflöte for Opera in the Heights. He has assisted professionally all over the country and holds a Directing Fellowship with Wolf Trap Opera.

A tenor with a warm tone and thrilling expressive ability, Dash has made his name performing dramatically demanding character roles, including the Rake in The Rake’s Progress, Beppe in I Pagliacci, Gomatz in Zaide, Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte, and Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls.

Dash has written and directed two outreach operas for children, including an interactive version of Die Zauberflöte. Recently, he wrote and directed the World War One musical revue show Over There: The Great War to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the war and adapted Shakespeare’s final play, The Two Noble Kinsmen, into an old West stage show for five actors, which was premiered by Santa Cruz Shakespeare.

Dash holds an MM in Voice Performance from the top-ranked Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in addition to a second graduate degree in directing from Florida State University. In 2018, he served as the interim Head of Opera for Baylor University.
