"Two Noble Kinsmen" for Santa Cruz Shakespeare!
Santa Cruz Shakespeare in DeLaveaga Park
I’m very excited to share that I’ve been invited to Santa Cruz Shakespeare, where I’ll spend the summer assisting on shows and directing an adapted version of one of Shakespeare’s least known works: Two Noble Kinsmen. The show, one of Shakespeare’s later works and co-written with a friend, tells the story of two knights who both fall in love with the same woman… and choose to fight for her hand in marriage. I’m adapting the script myself from it’s original length.
Many of you may not know that Shakespeare is one of my greatest passions. I may write a blog post down the line exploring the legacy of Shakespeare in opera and musical theater, from my own limited understanding. For now, I’m just excited to be given the chance to deep dive into a summer of the Bard.
Meanwhile, Shrek and Lolly Willowes are going wonderfully! Look for those in April at the Cascade Theater in Redding, CA and the MATCH in Houston, TX respectively.
