Tonight’s the night for the Lolly Willowes Project! At 7:30, the curtain goes up on Lolly Willowes, Michael Alec Rose’s beautiful adaptation of the early feminist fairy tale by Sylvia Townsend Warner. Not only will this be my first time directing a world premiere opera, it’s my first time designing a show! I’m so excited and, honestly, shocked at how beautiful the show we’ve built really is. Some of the incredible things we get to show people tonight are:
AMAZING dancers from Austin’s Ventana Ballet and Houston’s MET Dance.
A tour de force performance by Chelsea Helm as Lolly.
A gorgeously lit set that will delight and surprise the audience.
A string quartet of top notch artists who actually enter into the story and act!
It’s a pretty cool piece, I really hope to see you there!
Tonight at 7:30 and Saturday at 2:00 pm. Come get a little devil in you before you go to church on Easter!
